As we know, Sungei Kadut used to just be an industrial area in the North. However, the area is set to be revitalised in the near future.
Upcoming Sungei Kadut MRT & Interchange
With the upcoming Sungei Kadut MRT Station and Interchange which will be built between Yew Tee and Kranji MRT, connectivity in the North-West region will be further enhanced. The Sungei Kadut Station will be built on the North-South Line or the Red Line and will also be connected to the Downtown Line or the Blue Line, adding another interchange to our transport network in Singapore.
When completed by some time in the 2030s, residents and commuters in the north-west are set to benefit and can possibly save up to about half an hour in their journey when travelling to downtown areas.
Together with the completion of the Jurong Region Line, commuters in the Northern and Western will be able to enjoy shorter journeys, enhanced connectivity as well as greater convenience in the near future.
Agri-Food Innovation Park
Spanning across an area of around eighteen hectares or about thirty three football fields, the Agri-Food Innovation Park is set to enable growth opportunities in the agri-technology sector. This Agri-Food Innovation Park will be completed in phases starting from year 2021.
The innovation park will bring together high-technology farming, such as indoor farming, insect farms, animal feed manufacturing activities as well as research and development activities.
This is also part of Singapore’s vision to be the leader in urban agriculture and aquaculture technology.
With developments up and coming in the Sungei Kadut area, more jobs will also be created closer to homes.
