Roller Shutter Dimensions and How It Can Be An Important Factor When Considering An Industrial Unit

When looking for industrial spaces such as warehouse and factory units, it may be a good idea to share your business and operational requirements so that the matching process will be easier and perhaps more efficient.

One such type of requirements will be the dimensions or measurements of the roller shutters. Roller shutters are commonly installed for ground floor or for ramp up factory units.

Width of Roller Shutters

Whenever your business has products that are larger and wider such as construction materials or any other products, it may be a good idea to look for a unit with a wider roller shutter.

For example, a set of roller shutters with a wider width such as 4, 5 or 6 metres may be ideal if your company supplies or manufactures products that are large and wide. Any other roller shutter width dimensions may or may not be suitable as it may not allow you to fit your company products or equipment into the industrial space.

If you have forklifts moving around, there should also be sufficient space for the forklifts to manoeuvre in and out of the unit.

Height of Roller Shutters

A roller shutter height of about 4.5 metres would usually be more than sufficient as even most vehicles are less than 4.5 metres. We sometimes also see signages along the roads or expressways indicating the maximum allowable height for vehicles is 4.5 metres. At times, the height of the roller shutters may be around 4 metres, 4.2 metres thereabout but that should usually be sufficient for most businesses and operations.

Besides roller shutter height, you may also need to take note of the clearance height of the warehouse or factory unit to ensure that the clearance height is sufficient for your products or equipment to be stored within the unit.

Why Providing Such Information Helps

There are many types of industrial spaces such as warehouses and factories available in the market and by sharing such details and other requirements such as ceiling height, power supply, floor loading etc, the matching process will be quicker and more efficient resulting in a win-win situation.
